American Psycho Narration Scene : Application in Fight Night

We wanted to apply a narration over our film, similar to what they did in American Psycho with the intro to Patrick Bateman.

Something like this is appropriate because our protagonist is putting on an act. While on the surface he may seem indifferent or apathetic inside he is really worried, much like Patrick Bateman minus the psychopathic tendencies. I feel it would give our film a more dramatic feel and begin to build tension for the rest of the film up until the fight.
